Replacement Siding
Replacing your house siding is the most dramatic home improvement to change the color, style and overall appearance and energy efficiency of your home! There are many options to choose from, including wood siding, vinyl siding, cedar siding and fiber cement siding:
- cedar siding - clapboard or shakes
- vinyl siding (3" or 4" clapboard style)
- vinyl siding (cedar shake style)
- fiber cement siding
The most popular choice of homeowners is vinyl siding. A high quality vinyl siding is important to assure longevity. Lower quality vinyl is more likely to crack, dent, and discolor over time. Our choice of manufacturer is ALSIDE or CERTAINTEED.

To go along with your siding project you must also consider trim options. You can wrap all the trim in aluminum to add to your maintenance free living. For a more natural "wood" look you can remove all the old wood trim and install composite trim boards that will not rot, warp, or twist and never need painting! The most popular brand of composite trim boards is AZEK.
Things to know:
A siding project is an intrusive one, lasting 1-2 weeks for most homes. When stripping the original siding there is a dumpster on site. There are ladders, staging, materials and equipment that need to be stored on your property. We do the best we can to keep the property organized and clean.
Other issues that can arise are due to existing electrical outlets, fixtures and the main electrical service coming to the house, all of which need to be removed to install your new siding. If you would like to install new outlets and fixtures you should choose and purchase these items. If the main electrical service is older or not up to current standards the local building inspector may require that you replace the service. This could be an additional costly investment beyond our control. Call your electrician if you think your service may need to be changed.
